Job Description: Classroom Teacher
(Main pay scale)
Main Purpose of Job
- To plan, deliver and assess high-quality teaching in an inclusive and positive environment
- To demonstrate effective classroom management which nurtures all pupils and strengthens social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH)
Main Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver highly effective lessons across the curriculum
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND
- Assess, record and report on pupils’ progress and development
- Create and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Manage pupil behaviour effectively and promote positive relationships.
- Communicate regularly with parents, carers, and colleagues
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen learning experiences
- Participate in evidence-based, professional development opportunities
- Promote a love of learning and encourage curiosity and creativity
