• Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class/es ensuring equality of opportunity for all

• Be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct

• Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s professional position

• Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/carers, governors, other staff and external agencies in the best interests of pupils

• Act within, the statutory frameworks, which set out their professional duties and responsibilities and in line with the duties outlined in the current School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document and Teacher Standards (2012)

• Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school

What the school offers its staff

Watlington is a single form entry school with a family-focussed and friendly atmosphere, judged as GOOD by Ofsted in January 2019. Our Ofsted report praised the relationships that pupils and staff have and that “Classrooms are happy places with positive atmospheres for learning.”

An opportunity has arisen for a full-time teaching role in our school, this is a fixed term position to cover Year 6 whilst their current teacher is on maternity leave.The successful candidate will need to be an exceptional practitioner, with high expectations of themselves and others. They must also be able to work in successful partnership with a range of adults in school to give children the best experiences in the classroom so that they make good progress regardless of their starting point.
