POST TITLE: Year 6 Teacher & Raising Standards Leader
Grade / Hours: MPS/UPS + TLR, full time
RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of School
Start date September 2026
You matter to us.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, ambitious and highly effective Year 6 teacher to join Paston Ridings Primary School as our new Raising Standards Leader, following the internal promotion of our current postholder.
We are looking for someone who genuinely loves Year 6: someone who understands the balance of high expectations, strong relationships, curriculum expertise and pupil confidence that allows children to thrive in their final year of primary school.
This role is about far more than preparing children for SATs. It is about leading a culture of aspiration, helping children recognise their potential and ensuring every pupil leaves primary school ready for the next stage of their education.
You will join a strong, collaborative Year 6 team within a vibrant and supportive federation of schools where shared planning, coaching and professional dialogue are part of everyday life. We believe that great teaching happens when teachers feel valued, supported and trusted to flourish.
For the right candidate, this is an exceptional opportunity to develop leadership experience whilst remaining firmly rooted in classroom practice.
Why this role is special
🌟 A genuine leadership opportunity
This role includes responsibility as Raising Standards Leader, giving you the opportunity to help shape teaching, learning and outcomes, influence practice and work alongside experienced school leaders.

We value the expertise required to teach Year 6 successfully. You will be supported by leaders who understand the demands of the role and who prioritise collaboration, curriculum thinking and pupil wellbeing alongside strong outcomes.
🌟 Collaboration across a federation
You will work alongside talented colleagues across our four schools, sharing ideas, planning and expertise rather than working in isolation.
🌟 A culture of growth
The internal promotion of our current Year 6 teacher reflects our commitment to developing staff and creating opportunities for leadership and progression.
🌟 Children who deserve the very best
Our pupils are brilliant, enthusiastic and full of potential. We are looking for someone who will champion them, inspire them and help them leave primary school with confidence, ambition and belief in themselves.
Has successful experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
Has high expectations for all pupils academically and personally
Understands how to secure strong outcomes through excellent teaching rather than pressure
Is reflective, positive and committed to continual improvement
Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a strong team
Is ready to contribute to wider school improvement and leadership
What we offer
A caring, supportive and joyful working environment
Shared planning and collaborative working to ensure no teacher works in isolation
