Year One teacher (PART TIME) job summary

Our lovely Year One class of 22 children (our Robins) are looking for a part time teacher to join their existing teacher from January 2027.

This class has been taught as a job share since September but due to a career change of a member of staff, they now need a new teacher on a Monday and a Tuesday. It would be our preference to employ someone who is also able to work on Wednesdays (either for the morning, or the afternoon or the whole day) to provide PPA cover for the other half of the job share as well as their own, but this is not essential. The essential days and Monday and Tuesday.

The class left Early Years Foundation Stage with outcomes of 77.27% Good Level of Development, exceeding the national average. They are taught in a large classroom in our main school building.

Find out more about the class and their curriculum journey here including their blog with active parental engagement. Robins (Year 1) - Pirton School

This is a wonderful opportunity for a teacher with experience of Key Stage One to join our team, working alongside an experienced Year 1 teacher. If a successful candidate is able to work on Wednesdays, in addition to Mondays and Tuesdays, this is our staff meeting day as well as the day that the other Year 1 teacher works enabling face to face handover etc.

Pirton School is a small school with 130 children within it. We have a small staff team who work hard and want to do the very best they can for every child.
