Do you want a job that is fulfilling? Do you love and value working with young people? Are you tenacious, optimistic, compassionate and driven? Do you want to shape lives and impact futures? An exciting opportunity has arisen at Ashby school to appoint a Year Team Leader to join our large and thriving pastoral team. This could be the role to make all your aspirations a reality.

Ashby School currently serves students from Year 7 through to Year 13. Our Year 7 is a very popular choice for this community, being oversubscribed. Alignment of this role with a year group for next year will occur after appointment.

Our Year Team Leaders are the key trusted adults who work with students across the areas of attendance, safeguarding and attitudes, building great relationships with young people and their parents that will be the foundations of their Ashby story. We are looking for someone who is relentlessly optimistic; who understands, embodies and communicates our values and ethos of Building Resilience, Being Respectful and Taking Responsibility; who recognises that young people don’t always get everything right but who takes joy from working with them to recognise and respond to this; and who embodies our values, so our students are led to believe ‘Anything is possible’ through being ‘Empowered to learn’.

Transition is a vital part of the role and we are looking for an individual who has a strong willingness to further develop this process; be it from Year 6 into Year 7 or from Year 9 into Year 10. We want our students to feel secure and confident in their move to our secondary school. We also want someone who has a vision to utilise our amazing Key Stage 5 students into our Key Stage 3 and 4 plans to grow our school wide leadership ethos.

We are looking for someone whose values match these, whose ethos resonates with our school, who will invest in our young people and go above and beyond to support them to realise their aspirational futures. If this is you, we would love to hear from you!

Further information about our school is available on the school website.
