A School at the Heart of the Village

Barlestone Primary School is in a rural village with a population of around 3,000. It lies off the A447 midway between Hinckley and Coalville, close to the market town of Market Bosworth. Both the M1 and M42 motorways are within easy reach. Barlestone is a Church of England Primary School is an academy and is member of the RISE multi academy trust. It is a co-educational school with a single intake of children into the Foundation Class at the start of the school year in which they are five. The majority of pupils transfer at Year 6 to either The Market Bosworth School, or Bosworth Academy in Desford.

We have just under 200 children on roll. Our school is located in large pleasant grounds and has a number of outdoor play facilities, including an adventure play area, wooden maze seating, a large sports field and three table tennis tables. We have seven large classrooms which are bright, inviting and exciting places to learn and our vision is to inspire, achieve and celebrate together in a Christian learning environment.

We enjoy close ties with the village church and welcome a number of local groups into our school. There is a highly effective PTA, which is very supportive and contributes significant funds for curriculum enhancement activities and resources.

We are a friendly, welcoming school, enjoying considerable support and involvement from our parents.
