Braywood is a Church of England controlled school founded in 1875. We cater from 4 to 9 tears of age and we range in size from 120 to 150 children. Our school serves a varied socio-economic region, three miles outside a thriving town, but effectively still a rural school.
Our school provides a high degree of spiritual and ethical guidance for our pupils based within the Christian values of our school. Families feel included in their child's education and we have an outstanding partnership with our parents, governors and outside agencies. We are a collaborative school, working closely with other first and middle schools locally for a number of initiatives including PP initiatives, data sharing, moderation, research topics and lesson studies.
Learning is fundamental to all our choices and we all aspire to achieve. Our pupil progress is high and strategies are in place to ensure that all children achieve, regardless of barriers. Standards are well above national levels and usually above similar schools in our area. Our curriculum is extensive and we support our families with a range of extra-curricular provision and experiences, which ultimately enrich our children’s learning. Whole staff ‘buy in’ to the notion that ‘no-one fails’ is truly accepted.
Historically, Braywood had consistently grown in popularity and almost doubled in size due to our excellent reputation for providing a high standard of education and our warm, nurturing ethos where children flourish as individuals.
