About Colne Valley High School

Colne Valley High School is one of the first purpose built comprehensive schools in England; founded in 1956 and is located in the Colne Valley, an area of outstanding beauty in the east flank of the Pennine Hills in West Yorkshire.
Easily accessible from Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and surrounding areas.
With over 1350 students from September 2020, and an over-subscribed Year 7 & 8 cohort, we are a bustling, popular school with a real community feel.
In September 2019, Ofsted judged the school to be ‘Good’ in all four categories. This judgement reflects the significant progress and incredible journey by the school since the previous inspection in June 2017.

Commitment to safeguarding

The Academy is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Parents can feel confident that careful procedures are in place to ensure that all staff and volunteers are suitable to work with children within the Academy. Consistent and effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff. The Academy encourages parents and children to talk freely about any concerns or worries which may affect their wellbeing. All concerns are referred to the members of staff who are our trained designated Safeguarding Officers working as the school's Safeguarding Team.
