We are a large school with a small school feel. Our Christian ethos enriches our children whilst encouraging them to develop a love of learning in a nurturing and inclusive environment. They experience a broad and meaningful learning journey which celebrates their individuality, whilst challenging and inspiring them to be the best that they can be. Underpinned by Christian values, our School stands at the heart of the community with strong links to St Luke’s Church and the Diocese of Liverpool.

Farnworth CE Primary School was rated Good by Ofsted in July 2023 and is an IQM Flagship School. Ofsted described Farnworth as “not just a school. It is a family”. Leaders, Governors and staff have a shared ambition that all pupils, including those with SEND, will achieve their very best. Leaders have the right balance between academic success and developing pupils as well-rounded citizens. Parents and carers express overwhelmingly positive views about the school.

Our IQM visit report said “Farnworth C of E Primary School continues to thrive as a Flagship for inclusive practice. The exemplary behaviour and impeccable manners displayed by pupils reflect the high standards upheld within the school’s inclusive ethos. The dedicated staff members exhibit a passionate commitment to their roles, underpinned by a strong teamwork ethic. Pupils express a genuine pride in belonging to this school, speaking enthusiastically about their learning experiences and the opportunities it provides. Farnworth C of E Primary School is a shining example of educational excellence and inclusivity.

Commitment to safeguarding

We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children. We work to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice. All members of staff and volunteers are subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
