About Gorsley Goffs Primary School

The children, staff and governors of The Gateway Federation are seeking to recruit an Executive Headteacher with strong leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to continuing the development of our busy but always friendly schools. Both Schools have a Christian foundation – Gorsley is a Voluntary Controlled School (founded by a local philanthropist and preacher 204 years ago) and Lea is a Voluntary Aided Church of England School. We, therefore, aim to serve both our communities by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.
The Gateway Federation was formed in 2019 and both schools (and a renewed Nursery at Lea) have thrived in the years since. Both schools are popular choices for parents and are often oversubscribed. In both schools we provide a warm and open welcome to our pupils, their parents and carers – and to our wider community. We are located in two beautiful rural Herefordshire villages with excellent access to Gloucester, Hereford and Worcester (and beyond courtesy of the M50!). The journey between us is about twelve minutes!
Our pupils, their welfare, development and progress are at the centre of all that we do and we very much look forward to recruiting an Executive Headteacher who:

• Has a proven track record in enabling the delivery of high standards in teaching and learning, with the vision, enthusiasm and energy to help all members of our community achieve their full potential
• Has those essential leadership and management skills which, alongside strong interpersonal skills, lead to successful and positive communication with all
• Is confident, approachable, consistent and caring in their dealings with others
