About Horton Lodge Community Special School

Horton Lodge Community Primary School is a maintained special school for children aged 2-11 years with physical disabilities, associated learning difficulties and a range of complex needs including communication, sensory, and health. Horton Lodge is a small and friendly school with incredibly passionate staff who are constantly striving for the very best for our pupils.

We are offering the opportunity to work in our innovative school in a beautiful setting with wonderful pupils who are happy and enthusiastic about learning. We have a skilled and highly dedicated staff team and a very supportive Governing Body. Appropriate training and support will be offered to the successful candidate to ensure they are successful in their duties.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

• Knowledge of curriculum developments, assessment procedures and educational initiatives within a specialist SEND setting

  • Part time, open to job share: The role is 24 hours per week, term time only. No weekends or school holidays. The daily working hours will be 3 afternoon/evenings and 3 mornings across Monday – Thursday. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon/evening: 3pm - 8pm Tuesday, Wednesday morning: 7am - 9.30am Thursday morning: 7am – 10am Plus, one additional flexible hour per week for admin work. There is an expectation of a paid sleep in duties at least once per week
