About Joseph Turner Primary School

Joseph Turner is a friendly community school with welcoming staff, who have our children at the heart of everything we do. Teachers work in a phase team, with a parallel class teachers and a phase leader. All teachers receive high quality professional development and day-to-day support from senior leaders. All of our Phase Leaders and Assistant Head started as NQTs at Joseph Turner. As a whole school we continually work to develop pedagogy that inspires children to become lifelong learners. Teacher are responsible for ensuring good rates of pupil progress in their class as we strive to raise standards. We can offer very well behaved pupils who have extremely high expectations of their teachers and are eager to learn and proud to achieve.

Ofsted (May 2018) judged us as ‘Good’ in all areas. Our aim now is to be ‘Outstanding’.
