About Kington Primary School

Kington Primary School is located in the centre of Kington Town and is as such a focal point within the community. We have a beautiful purpose build Nursery incorporated within the school, a large outdoor space, the use of our own Forest School area close by, and playing fields within a short walk from the school. We also have access to our local High School which is a short walk for the Primary School.

We have a PAN of 30 per year group with approximately 200 pupils currently on role, from ages 2 to 11.

Values sit at the heart of all we do. Curriculum excellence for all children sits next to the vital wellbeing focus we have to ensure every child is supported, nurtured and truly valued.

We offer children a well-rounded education that values achievement but also recognise the importance of extra-curricular activities. Our parents and children really appreciate the broad range of activities available, such as Forest School, development of our school garden, art, music, drama and sport.

Rated “Good” by Ofsted in January 2020 with recognition of our outstanding areas throughout school. There is an extremely strong foundation in place, but always with a collective desire and purpose towards continuous improvement.

Kington Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
