At Lower Wortley Primary School we aim to provide a safe and stimulating environment where each child can fulfil their learning potential through a broad and engaging curriculum designed around the core principles of citizenship, ambition and resilience. Lower Wortley Primary is a one-and-a-half form entry maintained school located in Wortley, a suburb in the west of Leeds. Our catchment is mixed in nature, with very deprived neighbourhoods to the west of the school, while there are areas with lower levels of deprivation to the south, north and east. At least a quarter of the school’s pupils live in areas of high or very high deprivation, while most of the other pupils live in areas which had broadly average levels of deprivation.
