About King's Academy Lord Wilson

LWS Academy is proud to be part of the Gosport and Fareham Multi Academy Trust (GFM). The GFM comprises 5 schools; Bay House School, Gomer Junior School, LWS Academy, Brune Park School and Rowner Junior School.

Welcome to LWS Academy. We are a small specialised academy for boys based on the beautiful south coast.

Our specialist secondary school was established in January 1996 to educate and support boys with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, our new designation is as an Academy for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

The Academy aims to meet the needs of secondary aged boys who have difficulty managing social interactions; and recognising and regulating their emotions in order to promote positive mental health. As an educational establishment we strive to improve outcomes academically, but at LWS we acknowledge that good mental health, social skills and emotional development is the priority for our students.

Commitment to safeguarding

GFM Education is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children. We ensure our recruitment practices reflect this commitment. Successful candidates are subject to a enhanced DBS check. It is a criminal offence to apply for or accept a position (paid or unpaid) working with children if you are excluded from such work by virtue of a court order or exclusion by the DBS. Although a criminal record involving offences against children is likely to debar you from appointment of this type of post, the existence of other criminal convictions will not necessarily be a bar to employment.
