It gives us G R E A T pleasure to warmly welcome you to Queen's Croft High School. We officially took up post on 1st September 2023 and we are excited about the school’s future as we continue on a mission to G R E A T ness!

Students, parents/carers, staff and the wider community are very welcome to call us Sam and Letitia or Mr Wood and Ms Carter - we have no preference. What’s most important is that we build professionally strong, open, and mutually respectful relationships, which is in the best educational interests of the students who attend our school.

We are unapologetic in our relentless drive to ensure that we are aspirational for our students and that they receive a G R E A T education. Students at Queen's Croft get just one chance at their education, and therefore it is our duty as Co-headteachers to ensure that we get this right, to enable them to go on to live happy, healthy, and independent lives.

Queen’s Croft High School is an inclusive special school for students with a range of additional needs, mainly moderate and severe learning difficulties and/or disabilities. We are one of the largest special schools in the region and are sited in Lichfield, although we admit pupils from surrounding Local Authorities such as Birmingham and Walsall. All students who attend Queen's Croft have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).

We are proud to be part of the Primitas Learning Partnership, which is a near medium sized academy trust. Queen's Croft is the only special school within the trust. We are part of a family of six other schools; four mainstream primary schools, and two mainstream secondary schools.

Commitment to safeguarding

We take our duty to Safeguard all of our students very seriously. All staff are checked rigorously for their suitability to work with children. They are fully trained in all aspects of safeguarding and child protection. We recognise that this is the responsibility of everyone working and visiting the school and that we all have an important role to play.

We firmly believe that:

Pupils have the right to be protected from harm.
Pupils need to feel safe in our school.
We can contribute to the prevention of abuse and discrimination.
Support needs to match the pupil as an individual.
