About Sandy Lane Nursery and Forest School

At Sandy Lane Nursery and Forest School, we believe strongly that all children, regardless of levels of ability, should be valued and supported appropriately to enable them to access a wide variety of experiences and to achieve their individual potential.

We offer our children a stimulating, sensory learning environment where there is a strong emphasis on exploration and the development of independent skills.

Sandy Lane Nursery and Forest School has worked hard to develop its very own forest school. The British Conservation Trust Volunteers (BCTV) and the Mersey Forest Team helped and advised in the creation of this unique addition to the school, rated outstanding by Ofsted in 2010, 2012, 2017 and 2023. Robin Wood, so named from the number of robins spotted by the children, forms an integral part of the school’s curriculum where children can learn first-hand about nature and ecology. Sessions are led by specially trained and qualified Forest School Leaders, dedicated to the enrichment of experiences of each and every child that attends Sandy Lane Nursery and Forest School.
