St Charles Catholic Primary School is based in Spennymoor within the parish of St Charles, Tudhoe. We are a welcoming and caring school where every child is encouraged to develop their gifts and talents.

We strive for excellence in teaching and enjoyment of learning; in a setting underpinned by Gospel values and practices. As our Mission Statement expresses, we are a learning community that is guided by our faith and believe that Jesus is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to giving every child, every opportunity to achieve their potential in mind and in body in a happy, safe and caring environment.

Our highly skilled staff set consistently high expectations in all that they do and provide opportunities for our children to enjoy and succeed making long-lasting memories. At St Charles we are blessed with wonderful children, they have a great attitude to their learning and towards each other through mutual respect.

We are proud of our community; the partnership with our families, governors and parish who play an important role in the success of our school. In June 2021, we extended our school community even further as we became part of the Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust and in September 2021, we opened our new Nursery where even more children join us as we love, learn and grow together.
