About St John's Church of England Academy

St. John’s is a very special inclusive school that provides the community with a family, as well as our children with an outstanding education. We believe passionately that every child should aim for excellence and can fulfil their individual potential. Our main aim is to increase our children’s life chances – children from Darlington can achieve great things.

Our school provides a safe, positive and encouraging environment where children feel listened to, valued and cared for. Christian values are at the heart of everything we do. We have strong partnerships with parents and carers, who we believe are vital to the education of their children, and we look forward to seeing you on many occasions to celebrate successes, discuss progress and discuss how you can become involved in your child’s learning journey.

Commitment to safeguarding

St John's Church of England Academy is fully committed to safeguarding throughout the school.

In our most recent Ofsted inspection, the school was graded as ‘Outstanding.’ We provide high-quality teaching from caring, conscientious staff who are committed to ensuring that every child reaches their full potential.

Christian values are fostered within our friendly school and we were rated ‘Outstanding’ in our most recent Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS). We have links with Darlington Deanery and the Durham Diocese.
