About St Michael's Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School, St Albans

St Michael’s is a school that people seem to love as soon as they visit.

Established in 1876 as a Church of England School, we take children of all faiths and none, teaching respect for people of all views. The school is based in the Verulamium village and housed across two buildings, Top School and Lower School. Reception and Year 1 classrooms are at Lower School and Years 2–6 classrooms are at Top School.

There is a very strong sense of community where everyone feels valued and included. From 2017-2019 we underwent an expansion project which enabled us to become a ‘one form entry’ school. As the school grows, our aim is to keep the small village school atmosphere while continuing to provide a high quality education which prepares children for life beyond primary school.
