About The Winchcombe School

The Winchcombe School photo

The Winchcombe School is a unique and special place to learn.
The school is a welcoming, inclusive and diverse two-form entry school situated in the heart of Newbury in West Berkshire. It occupies a large site with modern facilities having benefited from a complete refurbishment and extension in recent years, making the learning environment outstanding. The children have access to extensive grounds including areas for Forest Adventures, an all weather multi-use games area and lots of outdoor creative play spaces.
The school hosts both a Language and Literacy Centre and the Local Authority's only Speech and Language Resource for children who require specialist, integrated support for their speech and language difficulties whilst following a mainstream curriculum.
There is a community closeness which is committed to a values-driven ambition for all our students underpinned by our vision of “Improving as One”.

Commitment to safeguarding

This School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a criminal records self-disclosure form and successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks along with other relevant employment checks.
