About Thorpe Acre Junior School

We are very proud of our school and our success stems from a relentless drive to put children’s learning experiences at the heart of all we do. Our rich and creative curriculum, along with the pastoral support we offer, encourages every child to discover and nurture his and her special gifts and talents.

We are a busy, friendly local authority maintained school in Loughborough who have been rated as GOOD in all areas during our last three Ofsted inspections, carried out in February 2013, November 2017 and May 2023.

Commitment to safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and it is expected that staff at the school share this commitment. This post is eligible for a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) (i.e. it involves certain activities in relation to children and/or adults) and is defined as regulated under Part 5 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006. Therefore an enhanced DBS check for a regulated activity (including a barred list check) is an essential requirement.
