About the School

Tyldesley Primary is a two-form entry school with a community nursery. It serves a catchment of predominantly White British heritage pupils. The number of children eligible for pupil premium is well below national. The school building is relatively new and is well resourced.

The school is part of the Leading Learners Trust and became an Academy in 2012. It was a National Teaching School and the Trust are keen that the principle of Initial Teacher Training and research are re-established with the appointment of a new Headteacher.

Tyldesley is a happy school, with high expectations for all children and staff. The staff team are supportive and links with parents and the wider community are now a developing strength.

The school was judged to be ‘good’ by Ofsted in February 2020 and aspires to become outstanding within the next five years.

Visits to the school will allow candidates to meet the wonderful children and staff. Visits are actively encouraged, and tours will be with the Trust CEO, Yvonne Brown.
