What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join us at St Leonard's CofE Primary School, in Exeter, which is part of the St Christopher's Multi Academy Trust.

The role is to work with an autistic 6-year-old boy working in Y1 who has an Education Health Care Plan with Communication and Interaction needs. He is a vibrant and energetic boy who has limited vocabulary and he requires adult supervision at all times. He accesses some learning along with his peers in class and at other times, requires a bespoke child-centred approach, such as outdoor physical activities. Ideally, you will have had previous experience of working with children with autism and social communication needs.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a calm and patient demeanour, who is committed to helping young people achieve their full potential and be able to effectively communicate with adults and children alike.

What the school offers its staff

St Leonard's CofE Primary School currently has around 610 pupils, set on a large plot, the school benefits from large open spaces for children to engage with learning outdoors, whilst having plenty of space to enjoy break and lunch times with friends. The school has experienced continued growth and success, and is proud to serve the community with links to the local church and charities. The staff at St Leonard's CofE Primary School are a positive, hard-working team, dedicated to being the ‘best that they can be’.
