Early Years Worker

Fixed Term position to start as soon as possible in November 2025

2 days per week (Thurs & Fr) - to include a mealtime assistant duty.

This is a temporary position in the preschool based on number sattending and will be reviewed Summer term 2026.

We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic Early Years Worker to join our warm, welcoming and dedicated team. You’ll play a vital role in supporting the development, learning, and wellbeing of children aged 0-5 in a safe, stimulating, and fun environment.

We offer you the support of clear systems, protocols, expectations, and structures to help you to succeed. You will need to show initiative, creativity and demonstrate the aptitude to work as part of a successful and growing team in Early Years to improve the life chances of our pupils and make every child feel valued as an individual.

What you’ll do:

  • Support in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development
  • Work closely with parents and carers to build strong, positive relationships
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care
  • Records of children’s progress and development
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (or equivalent)
  • A genuine passion for working with young children
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A nurturing, patient, and playful approach
  • Experience in an early years setting
  • A committed approach to the wider school community and engagement with them
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a strong and supportive team.
  • Paediatric First Aid desirable, otherwise can be completed as part of induction
