What skills and experience we're looking for
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team of professionals at Burnt Ash Primary School. We are seeking to appoint committed and enthusiastic Specialist Learning Support Assistants to support the learning journey of children with a range of complex needs within the Additional Resources Provision. The ideal candidate will have secure knowledge and understanding of supporting children with various needs including Autism, speech and language and early play skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate about joining our forward thinking and outstanding team and who share our school’s vision and passion for high aspiration and achievement for all.

The successful candidates will have:
- Strong team skills – be able to follow directions, use initiative and communicate clearly
- Outstanding practice and be dedicated to promoting high standards in learning.
- Secure knowledge of SEND children’s development.
- Compassion, patience and dedication to an inclusive ethos, with a strong record of engaging children.
- High expectations of pupils’ achievement and behaviour regardless of their starting points or needs.
- Enthusiasm for working in partnership with parents, Governors, and the wider community.
- Full and relevant qualification equivalent to GCSE or NVQ Level 3 in English and Maths
- It is desirable that the ideal candidate will have Level 3 in Childcare
- Experience of delivering agreed Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, SCERTS, ELKAN and other programmes
- Relevant experience of working with children with SEND such as Autism, developmental delay and other SEND across the primary age range
- An awareness of the SEND Code of Practice
