What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Up to date knowledge of effective pedagogy
  • Ability to teach outstanding lessons to pupils of all ages and abilities.
  • A passion for DT and for communication of the subject.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and delegate as necessary.
  • Ability to enthuse and inspire young people.
  • Willingness to engage with visits and visitors to enable first-hand experience of DT, in particular Resistant Materials.
  • High levels of energy, enthusiasm and resilience, with a willingness to find creative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • High standards of loyalty and professional integrity.
    • Successful track record of effective teaching with a range of pupils and ages, leading to outstanding outcomes.
    Experience of contributing to department development work, with noticeable impact.
  • A commitment to own continuing professional development.
