A094 SEND Intervention Mentor (EAL Support) job summary
SEND Intervention Mentors support students with EHCPs, SEND, and English as an Additional Language (EAL) who are referred for extra help. They deliver short, targeted programmes, usually over six weeks, to support study skills, assignment writing, language development, and wellbeing.
An initial assessment is carried out to understand each learner’s needs, strengths, and preferences. Cognassist is used to help identify neurodiverse profiles and shape personalised support. Progress is reviewed regularly to help learners build independence and achieve positive outcomes.
About You
- GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or Functional Skills Level 2
- Experience working with learners aged 16+
- Experience supporting learners with English as an Additional Language (EAL)
- Experience delivering and leading one-to-one or small group sessions
- Experience supporting learners with a range of learning differences, including dyslexia, ADHD, and autism
