What skills and experience we're looking for

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an English Tutor to join our fantastic team at MEA starting as soon as possible. This is a Fixed Term contract until August 2024.

Main purpose of the job:

To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for delivering agreed learning activities to identified groups of students.

This will involve planning, preparing and delivering learning programmes to individual and small groups in addressing the needs of students who require help to overcome barriers to areas of learning in English.

You will also be responsible for assessing the progress of students and recording assessments on the appropriate school systems.

Key relationships:

The main contacts of the job are: Curriculum Leader, SLT Line manager, SLT at the school, teaching staff, other support staff, students, parents, and external support services.


This is a Grade 5 post, working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 training days. The starting pro rata salary is £21,386, the full time equivalent is £24,948.

Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA) opened in 2009 and is proud to be part of the Prospere Learning Trust.

Our campus now has two teaching buildings, which incorporate a Theatre, Art, Fashion and Dance studios and new Science laboratories.
