Additional Needs Teaching Assistant (ANTA) Level 3 job summary
Dear Prospective Candidate,
Devonshire Primary Academy wishes to appoint a temporary Additional Needs Teaching Assistant (ANTA) at Level 3 to support a Class Teacher and contribute to the successful running of our KS1 SEND Provision.
The Bumblebees KS1 SEND Provision provides a dedicated learning environment for a small number of Key Stage 1 pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), with a particular focus on cognition and learning needs. The provision operates as a nurturing classroom with continuous provision opportunities that support children’s individual developmental stages. Pupils access a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is carefully aligned to the National Curriculum while meeting their specific learning needs. A strong emphasis is placed on the development of speech, language and communication skills, enabling children to build confidence and engage successfully in their learning. Staff work closely with each child to support the outcomes identified in their EHCP and to plan personalised next steps that promote progress, independence and achievement.
In addition to supporting these children, the candidate appointed must be flexible and respond to the needs of the wider team as appropriate and as instructed by their Line Manager.
The successful candidate will be passionate, innovative and flexible and want to make a difference to the lives of our children. They will fully engage children in their learning and make a positive contribution to the delivery of quality learning experiences for the children they work with. The successful candidate must have relevant primary school experience and be able to demonstrate an understanding of children’s educational development throughout the relevant age range. We would be interested to hear of previous experience in a similar role, as well as any curricular strengths or areas of expertise/interest.
At Devonshire Primary Academy, every child is important and everyone is treated as an individual. We place great emphasis on our ability to provide a secure, caring and welcoming environment in which everyone has pride in themselves and strives to achieve the highest possible standard of learning, behaviour and attitudes. We endeavour to ensure that all children leave our care with a love of education and with the building blocks they need to become confident, life-long learners.
Our dedicated staff, parents and governors all work together as a team to make Devonshire Primary Academy the best environment for our children to thrive.
We are inviting applications from candidates who have a relevant Level 3 qualification and who can:
