A unique opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic, committed, excellent classroom teacher with a passion for learning and is fully committed to achievement, enjoyment and inclusion.
At English Martyrs’ we believe that learning should be a rewarding, enjoyable and inclusive experience for everyone, therefore the ARP leader will be required to work alongside mainstream school colleagues and external professions, including Local Authority SEND Outreach teams, to make learning real, in order to unlock pupil engagement, stimulate curiosity, and provide deeper thinking.
The ARP leader will have the enthusiasm, flexibility and initiative to organise the teaching and learning for our pupils within the Additional Resources Provision (The Oscar Romero Centre).
English Martyrs strives to wrap children in an atmosphere of care, love and fun. We aim to provide for their moral, social, spiritual and cultural development so that they will have excellent attitudes and relationships. The ARP provides an inclusive environment which celebrates and supports neurodiversity, offering a bespoke curriculum and adapted environment.
You will be expected to make a full contribution to the life of the school following the Catholic ethos.
English Martyrs’ is part of the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust, a family of 39 schools, made up of 5 secondary schools and 34 primary schools from across Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland, in the north of the Diocese.

Has a good, up to date working knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning, and can adapt teaching to provide inspirational, contemporary and relevant learning experiences;
Is fully committed to achievement, enjoyment and inclusion;
Has up to date knowledge/experience of a range of specialist approaches related to communication and interaction needs;
Has experience of assessing, teaching and meeting the needs of children with communication and interaction needs, including autism;
have the commitment to contribute to the corporate life of the school;
