Are you an organised, proactive, and people-focused individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Plympton Academy is seeking a dynamic Administrative Officer to support our Careers, Work Experience, and Attendance teams. What You’ll Be Doing:

This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll be at the heart of student support and school operations. Your responsibilities will include:

Attendance Administration

  • Providing comprehensive clerical support to the Attendance Team, including letters, penalty notices, and safeguarding documentation.
  • Ensuring accurate completion of attendance registers across all year groups, including Sixth Form.
  • Liaising with staff to gather attendance data and applying appropriate codes for absences due to illness, isolation, or school activities.
  • Preparing official registers for emergency use and compiling evidence for penalty notices and court hearings.
  • Submitting statutory data to the Local Authority and producing attendance reports for senior staff.

Careers & Work Experience (WEX)

  • Organising and coordinating careers events such as mock interviews, careers fairs, and university visits.
  • Managing a careers interview service and maintaining a careers library and resources.
  • Supporting Y10 and Y12 students in securing meaningful work experience placements.
  • Updating careers data on UniFrog and aligning it with Gatsby benchmarks and national standards.
  • Producing termly reports for senior leadership and governors.

General Office Support

  • Assisting with reception duties and general office tasks, including mail distribution and first aid support.
  • Maintaining school databases and records, both digital and paper-based.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Confidence in using ICT systems and managing data securely.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to safeguarding and equality.
