St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School who are part of Dunstan Catholic Educational Trust (DCET), are seeking to appoint an Administrative Assistant to join the school, as soon as possible.

We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Administration Assistant, supporting the day-to-day running of the school office.

This is a varied and busy role where you’ll be involved in everything from welcoming visitors and managing phone calls, to supporting pupil records, school communications, and helping with events and activities. You’ll work closely with the Office Manager, Headteacher, and wider school team to ensure things run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a friendly and professional first point of contact at reception - answering calls, greeting visitors, and assisting with queries
  • Support pupil attendance recording and data updates using school systems
  • Assist with parent communications, consent forms, and general queries
  • Help with bookings and admin for clubs, trips, music tuition, and school events
  • Liaise with catering teams and manage lunch bookings and payments
  • Monitor and order supplies including stationery, first aid, and refreshments
  • Provide general admin support including photocopying, filing, typing letters, and updating communication platforms
  • Support with record keeping, cash handling, and maintaining confidentiality
  • Assist with new staff setup, ID badges, and policy documentation
  • Provide minor first aid (if trained) and minute meetings when needed

Has strong admin skills and attention to detail

Is confident using Microsoft Office and school systems (e.g. SIMS, online payment platforms)

Communicates clearly and warmly with staff, parents, and visitors

Can manage multiple tasks and stay calm in a busy environment

Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding

Is flexible, reliable, and enjoys being part of a supportive team

Has a cheerful, professional manner and a smart appearance

Is willing to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and Trust
