After School Club Assistant — Giles Junior School

Hours: 12.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 3:00-5:30pm
Working pattern: Term time only
Salary: H2

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable After School Club Assistant to join our team and help children enjoy a safe, welcoming and stimulating end to their school day.

Working under the direction of the After School Club Manager, you will help plan and deliver activities that encourage children’s social, physical, creative and emotional development through play.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and supervising children during activities.

  • Preparing, serving and clearing away refreshments.

  • Helping maintain attendance registers and supporting safe collection by parents and carers.

  • Keeping the club environment tidy and reporting unsafe equipment.

  • Following the school’s safeguarding procedures.

We are looking for someone with experience of working with school-age children, an understanding of play and child development, and the ability to build positive relationships. You should be a supportive team member with good communication skills, high expectations for behaviour and a commitment to inclusion. A good standard of general education and a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification are required.
