After School Club Assistant job summary

After School Club Assistant

Pickwick Academy Trust would like to recruit a part-time After School Club Assistant, based at St Gregory’s CofE Primary School on a fixed term contract.

Hours:

8 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 3.30pm until 5.30pm, working 38 weeks per year (term time, excluding TD days)

Salary:

Dorset Grade 4, Point 4, £24,404 pro rata, per annum (actual salary £4442 per annum).

Start date: 24th February 2025 or as soon as possible

End date: 31st December 2025

Role overview

We would like to recruit an After School Club Play Assistant to work alongside our After School Club Supervisor to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all children who access after school provision. To plan and organise a range of stimulating activities suitable for Primary age children, taking into account the children’s interests.

Duties will include:

To ensure that the health and safety needs of each individual child are met at all times by ensuring that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner and injuries and emergencies are dealt with following the proper procedures

To ensure that food provision is balanced and healthy and in line with the Food Safety Act 1990 and ensure good hygiene standards are maintained at all times.

To engage children in purposeful play and activities.

To support with home learning and other relevant activities when appropriate.

To support in all aspects of the running of the provision.
