Are you looking to be part of a school federation that is going places? Are you looking for an exciting challenge in your career? Do you want to be part of a vibrant and supportive school community?

We have a vacancy for leading our really popular after school club at Hempnall Primary School. Our club is offered as required to all of our families every evening from 3:15 until 6.00pm during term-time and has at times up to 30 children attending. You will lead the staff team, including an assistant, in looking after our children, supporting them through play, a snack and anything else they need and build positive relationships with the children at the club – so that they enjoy and thrive in their extended time at school.

We are a small school of 6 classes (159 children), our school is situated just 8 miles south of Norwich in the delightful village of Hempnall, and serves pupils from a number of villages around the area. We have a supportive staff team, excellent teaching assistants and offer our pupils an exciting curriculum.

What we can offer you as part of our team:

  • A caring and supportive school where children love to be challenged, be inspired and learn;
  • The chance to lead and positively change the provision of a popular club, with opportunity for up to 6 weeks extended hours through our holiday club offer;
  • A progressive school environment, where team-work and a shared vision drive school development;
  • The opportunity to work as part of the team and quickly develop yourself professionally;
  • A dedicated line-manager supporting your development and carefully identified career pathways
  • Excellent career and personal development opportunities within our federation of schools.

This post would suit someone who is looking for the chance to work in a primary school, work with children, lead their play and provision and work independently and lead a team to achieve great results. It may be someone who is looking for further opportunities within a school setting and develop their career with us at Hempnall and in our federation. We particularly want to support local people who are keen to look into getting experience, a reference or a foot in the door of our federation for a future career in education. Hours of work, 3-6pm, Monday to Friday.

Core tasks and duties of the role include and the knowledge and skills can be found in the job description (GR1154).
