What skills and experience we're looking for

The core focus of this job is to take a lead role in running our thriving after school club.

The successful candidate willensure the provision of high quality out of hours school provision for children, within a positive, safe and happy environment. The post holder will do this by organising and providing an appropriate range of activities and food. They will:

  • Be passionate about caring for children and young people.
  • Have experience of working with children.
  • Have knowledge of matters relating to safeguarding of children.
  • Have the ability to display positive social skills and encourage good behaviour in pupils.
  • Have the ability to establish constructive working relationships with pupils, parents / carers and colleagues.
  • Have adequate verbal and written communication skills appropriate to the need to communicate effectively with pupils, parents / carers and colleagues.

The successful candidate will meet the qualification requirements to be included in the staff:child ratios at level 3

  • hold a qualification that is recognised by the Department for Education as full and relevant at the appropriate level, (see DFE Qualification Checker)
  • be a student or apprentice working at the level below the level of study
  • have successfully completed the experience-based route.
