Scartho Gateway Academy opened in September 2025 and now has 152 pupils and will eventually provide for up to 210 mainstream pupils, from Reception to Year 6.

The Academy also includes an RSP, which will cater for up to 12 children from across North East Lincolnshire who have identified Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

We are looking for a leader for our after-school wrap around care, who demonstrates a strong desire to support all aspects of our provision for children who attend. This will include organising a wide range of activities to suit the needs of all children and providing them with a healthy snack. The lead will be responsible for all aspects of safeguarding and health and safety - a full training package will be put in place.

The successful candidate will hold ambitious expectations for all students, including those with additional and special educational needs and disabilities and embed a culture where all can access the curriculum and learn effectively.

Scartho Gateway Academy is working closely with Trauma Informed Schools UK to support the development of our vision, values and curriculum. It is essential that the successful candidate champions our principles of trauma awareness and relational learning, building strong, trusting relationships with our children to create a safe learning environment.

Our ethos is one of an uncompromising drive to achieve the highest standards of outcomes and behaviour in a safe environment, which encourages every student to experience an exciting and creative climate for learning. We place a strong emphasis upon pastoral care and the after school lead will share the determination to offer the very best to our students.

The role will start as soon as the successful candidate is available.

A full package of on-going CPD is in place to support our staff team as part of the whole school relational approach. This will include regular supervision.

Applications should be submitted via My New Term by 9.00am on Friday 9 October 2026. The personal statement should include:

  • Why you are interested in this role
  • The personal qualities and experience that you will bring to the role

Candidates will be selected for interview and contacted on Friday 9 October 2026.

Interviews will take place w/b Monday 12 October 2026.

Please contact the Principal, Mrs Melanie Portlock, for further details about the role and/or the new academies - PortlockM@scarthogatewayacademy.co.uk

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. As part of this process, all successful applicants are required to apply for an enhanced DBS disclosure. Other checks including social media will be carried out in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education legislation.
