Apprentice Academy Administrator - Two Year Fixed Term Contract job summary

We are recruiting for an Apprentice Academy Administrator at Thomas Middlecott Academy, based in Kirton, Lincolnshire.

This is a key role within the Academy to work alongside the Senior Administrator and/or Academy Operations Manager (AOM) to provide competent clerical, administrative and secretarial support to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and wider team. The post holder will be primarily responsible for communicating with the Principal, SLT, Parents and Carers, DRET Head Office team and third party suppliers and contractors.

About the role

To provide administrative support to the Academy team, dealing with confidential and sensitive issues in a timely, professional and competent manner.

To support the Principal and support the wider staff team as appropriate.

To support the Principal and SLT with coordinating events including, but not limited to, Opening Evenings, Parents Evenings and Music Concerts.

To provide a ‘keyboard resource’ including: typing letters, building and maintaining records and preparing files to support the staff team to meet internal and external deadlines as required.

In addition, the successful post holder will be given support and time to complete a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.

Who we are looking for

Educated to GCSE-level, including English and Mathematics.

To be a user of Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce, create and edit documents using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Able to maintain the strictest confidentiality and integrity at all times.

Sensitivity when collaborating work with colleagues at all levels.

Highly organised and efficient and able to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate well to a wider range of stakeholders.

Able work under your own initiative and deal with demands of large and diverse Parent/Carer population.

Ability to work as part of a diverse team.

Thomas Middlecott Academy is situated in Kirton, within the Borough of Boston, Lincolnshire.
Our academy is named after Sir Thomas Middlecott, who founded the first Free Grammar School in Kirton in 1624, and there has been a school serving our local community ever since.
