Apprentice Learning Support Practitioner - to start as soon as possible

37 hours per week/term time/fixed term 18 months - starting salary £13263 (NMW Apprentice)

We are seeking an Apprentice Learning Support Practitioner to join our SEND team at Newcastle Academy in the North Staffs & Stoke Learning Community.

We are looking for someone to support our students in the classroom under the guidance of the SEND team and class teacher, addressing the needs of pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning. You will provide support in literacy/numeracy/science and SEN strategies and may provide support in an extracurricular club or activity.

We have a clear, whole school approach to behaviour for learning, which is adopted by all staff and supported by leaders at all levels. We are looking for someone who is dedicated and hardworking, and someone who enjoys, even relishes, a school environment.

We are part of the Windsor Academy Trust where the support, guidance and cross-school work is of a high quality. We all strive for excellence and have a real sense of community. Being part of the community is incredibly important to us. Our team approach is evident in everything that we do, and this has been a key factor in securing school improvement in recent years. We firmly believe in the importance of all of our students achieving an excellent education, which in turn enables our students to believe that they can achieve their dreams with hard work, determination and self motivation.

The value of being part of our team should not be underestimated: joining our Trust will mean that you will be part of a supportive and dedicated group of staff who will invest in your professional development. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your abilities and knowledge whilst working in a supportive environment in conjunction with other very dedicated and professional staff.

Please contact Laura Clothier, Interim SENCo on lclothier@newcastle.windsoracademytrust.org.uk for further information.
