As our Apprentice Teaching and Learning Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and the SENDCO to support students with additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop their independence and achieve their potential. Support will take place in the classroom, in small groups and through individual 1:1 work with students across Years 7 to 13.

You will have the opportunity to:

• support students to access the curriculum and become confident, independent learners;
• work with individual students and small groups as well as supporting learning within the classroom;
• build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents/carers;
• act as a positive role model and promote high expectations for learning, development and behaviour;
• support students' wellbeing and integration into the classroom;
• develop practical skills in areas including behaviour support, adapting resources, assessment and learning interventions; and
• contribute to transition arrangements for students.

Alongside your role in school, you will work towards the Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification with DCG, combining professional training with valuable day-to-day experience in a secondary school environment.
