APPRENTICE SEND TEACHING ASSISTANT
Required for 1st September 2026
32.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
8:30am-3:30pm Term time plus 5 training days
Government Apprentice rate £8.00 per hour

We are seeking to appoint an Apprentice SEND Teaching Assistant to start on 1 September 2026. You will study for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship for 18 months through the University Academy Holbeach, working in our Academy for four days a week and studying at the University Academy Holbeach for one day a week.
Teaching Assistants ensure that pupils understand their work, know their learning objectives and display positive learning behaviours in order to make progress. They deliver individual and small group teaching within and outside of the classroom environment and apply a range of strategies to support learners of different abilities under the professional direction and supervision of a qualified teacher. Teaching Assistants support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities and pupils with social, emotional and mental health vulnerabilities.
We are looking for someone who: -
- Has 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths
- Has good written and verbal communications skills
- Has good IT skills
- Has a commitment to developing an excellent understanding of a child’s development and learning
- Has a commitment to building professional relationships, working effectively with colleagues and pupils within the academy
- Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Will respect confidential information
