The Governing Body of Hillborough Infant and Nursery School is seeking to appoint an apprentice for a Teaching Assistant position to start as soon as possible. Hillborough Infant and Nursery School is Ofsted rated Good, with pupils who are keen to learn.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable individual with a desire to learn new skills and develop knowledge and experience. This role is ideal for a person starting their professional journey in education and involves developing new skills and knowledge to assist in promoting the learning and personal development of the pupil(s) to enable him/her to make the best use of the educational opportunities available to them. We require a committed and self-motivated individual with an enthusiasm for working with young people.
The successful applicant will work as part of a team and will undertake a range of tasks such as:
- Provide support in the classroom to individuals/groups of pupils as directed by the class teacher.
- Follow and implement the school’s behaviour policy and any related policies and procedures.
- Provide support for learning in the classroom as directed by the class teacher and help to maintain the order and cleanliness of the classroom environment e.g. putting up displays and tidying resources.
- Assist in the supervision of children during the working day, on/off site including for example school visits.
- Assist in classroom preparation.
- Under the direction of the class teacher develop and maintain supportive relationships with parents, carers and other professionals.
- Contribute to the care, health and welfare of pupils in accordance with the relevant school policies.
- Keep records and provide feedback to teaching and other staff on pupils’ behaviour and progress.
- Maintain and respect confidentiality.

- Teaching Assistant (Level 3 Apprenticeship)
