Art and Design Technician job summary

We are currently seeking to employ an inspirational and motivated Art and Design Technician to assist with the preparation of equipment and resources to support the efficient delivery of the curriculum in the Art and Design department.

The successful candidate will be required to assist in the preparation of materials, maintenance of tools and equipment, the safety and security of classrooms and storerooms to provide an efficient and effective support service to the department and students.

If successful, you would play a vital role in the College, which is graded as ‘outstanding’ in all categories by Ofsted. Our College excels in providing a broad, inclusive and high-quality education to all of our learners, which has resulted in some of the highest levels of progression to Higher Education in the sector. In 2023, students at Joseph Chamberlain College achieved outstanding exam results.

Our College is situated within easy reach of Birmingham City Centre, in a state-of-the-art building with superbly equipped classrooms and outstanding facilities.

Hours of work: Hours of work will be 36.5 hours per week over 5 days, during term time, plus an additional 5 days. You will very occasionally be required to work outside normal hours, and this will be agreed by negotiation.

Salary: Colleges' Support staff pay points 6- 8, which is currently £25,558 - 26,243 per annum, FTE depending on experience, (this will be adjusted for term time, plus additional 5 days).
