What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to recruit a Design Technology Technician to support the teaching of DT across all material areas including food and art.

The role will involve coordinating and setting up of the practical resources and facilities to support the curriculum, as well as supporting the teacher with food and textiles at KS3 and KS4. Supporting students within the lesson when required.

Working closely with teaching staff, the successful applicant will assist in the servicing of machinery, clean and sharpen tools, maintaining good standards of organisation to ensure safety and reliability.

We are seeking to appoint a technician with experience of using workshop tools, food hygiene, health and safety within an educational setting or an individual who has undertaken a role involving similar duties outside of education.

Experience of operating a laser cutter and working with CAD/CAM programmes would be desirable, but not essential. Further details on the role are contained within the job description.
