The Bedfordshire Schools Trust (BEST) is a multi-academy trust providing exceptional education across our community of 11 schools and five nurseries. Since forming in 2016, we have grown significantly into one of the largest single employers in Central Bedfordshire. We now educate more than 8,000 children across the area, from nursery age to advanced level study. It is our aim to grow the BEST in everyone, and everything we do is driven by our values, but our aims can only be achieved if we recruit, retain and develop the highest quality workforce - and we want those we employ to be valued in the workplace. The first five years of BEST has been a real success story - and we are looking forward to an exciting future, too.
We currently have a vacancy for a part-time Art Technician at our Academy, to work on Fridays during term time. As our Friday Art Technician, you will play a vital role in keeping our vibrant Art Department running smoothly. You will work alongside teachers and students to help turn creative ideas into finished artwork, ensuring our classrooms are ready for practical learning, inspiration, and expression. This role comes with the potential opportunity of additional hours down the line.
We welcome candidates from a broad range of backgrounds. What matters most is your organisational skill, enthusiasm, and practical approach to supporting young people. This role may particularly appeal to a creative parent looking for term-time hours that fit around family routines, or an artist looking for rewarding and regular hours to complement their lifestyle.
This role will involve working closely with the pupils at Samuel Whitbread Academy and you will be engaging in regulated activity with children.
