- Full time: Basic working hours are from 08.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday, but some flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the business. This is an all-year-round post. There will be some evening and weekend working required to support departmental activities, and whole college recruitment and promotional events.

Plumpton College is seeking an ambitious and passionate Assistant Curriculum Manager – Equine to play a key role in shaping and delivering outstanding equine education.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced equine professional and high-performing teacher who is ready to take the next step into curriculum leadership. Working closely with the Curriculum Manager, you will help drive high-quality provision, support and develop staff, and ensure excellent outcomes for learners.
About the Role
As Assistant Curriculum Manager, you will:
- Design, develop and manage high-quality equine programmes that meet awarding body requirements and industry needs
- Line manage and mentor staff, supporting performance, development and wellbeing
- Deliver and model consistently high-quality teaching, learning and assessment
- Lead on quality improvement activity, including standardisation, internal verification and KPI monitoring
- Support student recruitment, progression, retention and destinations
- Work collaboratively with employers, stakeholders and internal teams to strengthen provision and learner opportunities
- Ensure safeguarding, equality, diversity, health and safety, and student welfare are embedded in all practice
You will also contribute to marketing and recruitment activity, employer engagement, and whole-college events.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a degree or professional qualification in equine (or a related subject)
- Has a recognised teaching qualification appropriate to the level of delivery
- Has extensive equine industry experience and strong specialist subject knowledge
- Is an excellent teacher with a track record of good or outstanding practice
- Has the ability to support, motivate and develop a high-performing team
- Is highly organised, adaptable and confident using data and digital systems
- Is passionate about student success, inclusion and safeguarding
- Holds Level 2 (or above) English and maths, or equivalent
Supervisory or team leadership experience is desirable.
