What skills and experience we're looking for

Grove Road Community Primary School is entering an exciting new chapter of stability, ambition and growth. We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated SENDCo who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.

This is an excellent opportunity to shape SEND provision in a welcoming and supportive school community. You will work as part of the senior leadership team to develop inclusive practice, support staff and ensure pupils with additional needs achieve their full potential. The role will be 4 days non-class based to reflect the high number of EHCPs in school. School also has an 8 place TMP (Targeted Mainstream Provision) and the role will be lead teacher for this provision. This role is ideal for someone who already has experience of being a SENDCo who wants to step up to senior leadership .

About the Role

  • Lead and develop the school’s SEND provision and inclusive practice
  • Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Coordinate EHCP provision, reviews and external agency support
  • Support teachers in delivering high‑quality adaptive teaching
  • Work closely with families and outside professionals
  • Monitor the progress and wellbeing of pupils with SEND

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes for pupils with SEND
  • Has strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Builds positive relationships with children, staff and families
  • Is organised, reflective and committed to continuous improvement
  • Can contribute positively to the wider life of the school

The National SENDCo Qualification is essential.
