Job Description
Assistant Headteacher (Co-SENDCo, KS2 Leader, Assessment Lead)
Main Purpose
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Assistant Headteacher will support the Headteacher in providing strategic leadership and management across the school.
The post holder will lead KS2, act as Co-SENDCo, lead assessment across the school and contribute significantly to curriculum development, schoolimprovementand strategic planning.
The post holder will deputise for the Headteacher whenrequired.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Support the development and implementation of the school's vision and strategic priorities.
Contribute to self-evaluation, school improvementplanningand monitoring activities.
Support the Headteacher in the day-to-day leadership and management of the school.
Promote the Christian ethos and values of the school.
Deputise for the Headteacher whenrequired.
KS2 Leadership
Provide strategic leadership for teaching and learning across KS2.
Drivehigh standardsof attainment,progressand achievement.
Monitor the quality of teaching and curriculum implementation.
Lead phase development planning.
Support staff through coaching and professional development.
Assessment Leadership
Lead whole-school assessment,recordingand reporting systems.
Ensure assessment information isaccurate,robustand used effectively.
Lead moderation activities.
Analyse pupil performance data andidentifypriorities.
Support staff in using assessment to inform teaching.
Report outcomes to SLT, governors and relevant stakeholders.
Co-SENDCo Responsibilities
Jointly lead SEND provision across the school.
Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and guidance.
Coordinate provision,reviewsand statutory processes.
Monitor outcomes and provision for SEND pupils.
Liaise with families and outside agencies.
Develop inclusive practice across the school.
Curriculum Leadership
Lead an agreed curriculum subject area.
Monitor standards and provision.
Lead developments that improve curriculum quality and impact.
Staff Leadership
Linemanageidentifiedteachers and support staff.
Conduct performance management reviews.
Contribute to recruitment,inductionand professional development.
Teaching and Learning
Model excellent classroom practice.
Maintain a teaching commitment as directed by the Headteacher.
Lead andparticipatein quality assurance activities.
Support continuous improvement in teaching standards across the school.
