Do you want to work in a values-led school with a commitment to staff growth and well-being as well as outstanding progress for all pupils?
Do you share our passion that every child deserves the very best education to flourish?
Do you have the skills, experiences and insights to make a difference in the lives of our children and contribute to a vibrant, learning community?
If so, we would love to hear from you! Your journey towards impactful leadership starts here.
St. Andrew's is a Christian values-led, highly popular school and nursery in the heart of Kettering and is part of the Peterborough Diocese Academy Trust (PDET). We're proud of the way children not only make great progress in their learning, but also how we take such pride in developing our children's character and behaviour. Children are at the heart of every decision we make as we strive to serve and better our community.
Following a recent successful OFSTED inspection in 2023, our school has received a very well-deserved rating of Good, and inspectors commented:
"This is an extremely inclusive and welcoming school. Pupils get on well with each other. They are caring and kind. They enjoy positive relationships with staff. Staff hold pupils’ interests at the heart of all that they do."
We are proud to be recruiting for an outstanding and inspirational professional, with a real passion to make a difference to the education experiences of the children at our school. In this role, you will support us in our goal, through providing professional leadership and embodying our values, to secure the success and continuous improvement of this school.
This position also encompasses the role of Inclusion Lead. This is very important to the staff and Governors of St Andrew’s - we want every child to feel success and to thrive in our school, whatever their individual need or challenge. This role is essential to determine the strategic development of SEN policies and provisions in the school, regularly monitoring their effectiveness, whilst maintaining up-to-date knowledge of national and local initiatives, which may affect the school’s practice. By promoting a coherent and impactful approach to SEND Support, in line with our vision and values, you will help children overcome barriers to learning and help sustain high Quality First teaching with colleagues.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has recent, successful experience in the classroom and is looking for an opportunity to take the next step in their leadership career.
- Has the skills to lead, improve and sustain academic achievement for all children, who has high expectations for children’s learning, and can foster collaborative working and living our values every day.
- Someone who is up to date with current research around Quality First Teaching and Early Years practice (Nursery and Reception).
- Someone with sound knowledge and experience of working as a SENCo/Inclusion Lead and taking responsibility for promoting inclusion and managing day-to-day responsibilities.
- Ensures all children feel safe, happy and able to learn to the best of their ability and reach their potential.
- Has the ability to develop effective relationships with pupils, parents and external agencies in order to support pupils’ smooth transition into school and is an excellent communicator.
- Is confident in leading a team, developing the vision and having the drive to move it forwards
- Able to create a stimulating and inviting learning environment adapted to suit the needs of the pupils.
- Supportive of the ethos of a Church and Trust school.
Please review the attached Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
We can offer you:
- A school that is committed to the importance of education and believes in developing children’s creativity, imagination and love of learning.
- A forward thinking, creative school that prides itself in supporting and encouraging professional development to ensure you are successful and continue to grow as an educator and leader.
- A school that believes in kindness, love and Christian values that underpins our approach to the whole school community.
- An exciting opportunity to work within the wider aspirational SLT team that want to embrace your talents and skills.
- Excellent CPD through being part of the Peterborough Diocesan Academy (PDET)
